Thursday 9th September to Sunday 12th September sees the 40th Greve in Chianti Chianti Classico wine festival. Cellars will be opened, wine will be offered for tasting and purchasing, and generally meeting the locals and seeing the sights.

Local food products such as cheese and salami will also be available for tastings, live music will be performed, art will be exhibited and many other events will be held including a town game of Tombola (that’s Italian bingo!). You can see more information on the Greve in Chianti website:

Greve in Chianti is a charming area, whose central piazza features a great cheese and salami store that is definitely worth visiting whilst in the area!

Pointless aside: The official communication about this event includes a personal message from the area’s ‘Major’ (which is the word that Italians often hilariously mistake for Mayor!).
