Snow in Tuscany

Here are some photos of the stunning Tuscan countryside covered in snow, taken in the small Tuscan town of Certaldo on one side of the river, and the famed Tuscan hill-top town of San Gimignano on the other.

Some of the best Tuscan wine is produced here, including the areas famous white, Vernaccia (the first wine ever given the top-grade DOCG wine appellation ? Denominazione Origine Controllata e Garantita, or (“Controlled origin denomination”).

If you can spot the white dog in the photos camouflaged by the snow, her name is Greta. She is the adored pet of one of the Artviva staff members. Greta is bilingual, and loves her Tuscan countryside walks, particularly in the snow! Although the thing she loves most in the world is a biscuit.

We’ve also added in a photo of a giant snowball taken in Piazza Strozzi, in the historical city centre of Florence and just nearby the Artviva Walking Tours Florence office.

If you’d like to explore the Tuscan countryside, do a Tuscan wine tasting, have lunch in a stunning Tuscan location, do a Tuscany walking tour or ride a bike in the Tuscan hills, on our small-group Tuscany tours, see: Tuscany Tours:
