Art Rocks Hard in Florence: Michael Jackson, Jim Morrison, Lou Read and more in Florence Art Exhibit

Ringo Starr's contribution to the Art of Hard Rock Exhibition in Florence

Florence. Renaissance city. Great artistic masterpieces. Hub of unsurpassed genius.

And now, Hard Rock?

From midday Saturday 6th August, a new art exhibition is opening in Florence. Titled ‘THE ART OF HARD ROCK’, it is an art exhibition showcasing 40 works by big names in rock being held free of charge at Le Murate in Florence’s historic city centre.

With Florence’s very own Hard Rock Café opening just a few weeks ago, where Artviva staff member Celeste could be seen rocking hard at the Simple Minds concerts (see photographic evidence to prove it!), the Art of Hard Rock exhibit is to celebrate 40 years of Hard Rock (the café, that is).

The exhibition features 40 never-before exhibited artworks by famous musical artists who have turned their hand to a new artform, including Michael Jackson,  Jim Morrison, Iron Maiden, Pete Townshend, John Entwistle, Ringo Starr,Paul Stanley, Frank Zappa, Roger Daltrey, Alice Cooper, Billy Idol, Lou Reed, Joaquin Sabina, Julian Lennon, George Clinton, Mike Oldfield, Marty Balin, Marillion, Ugly Kid Joe and others.

These great artworks in Florence will be exhibited from 3rd August to 10th September 2011, from 12pm to 11pm daily, at Le Murate, Piazza Madonna della Neve, entrance from Via Ghibellina.

The Hard Rock Café Florence is on Via Brunelleschi, 1 (Piazza della Repubblica). Tel: +39 0552670499.
