When in Rome, do as the Romans do.
What is so amazing is that some of these things to do in Rome date back to as far back as 312 BC – such as walking along Rome’s most ancient road, the Appian Way.
If you prefer (and have good ankles!) you can even bring your runners and go for a jog along the cobbled paths. We did this one sunny Sunday morning and it was just splendid!
The Appian Way was one of the first roads built by the ancient Roman Republic and offers a great way to get out of the city to see some unique areas of Rome, as well as being close to the Catacombs.
This unique place to visit in Rome is also one of the reason we have this great travel tip for Italy holidays concerning How to Get Around in Italy.
