Travel in Style: how to dress

How to dress for Italy, travel in Italy

Annie Hall is a great example of comfy but stylish mix-and-match dressing paired with comfy shoes.

If you’re planning a trip to Italy, plan on doing lots of walking!

Whilst this means that comfy shoes are a must, it doesn’t mean you have to dress like you’re going camping. Unless you’re going camping.

If you’re visiting the great cities of Italy such as FlorenceVeniceRome, the best way to dress is smart but comfy casual.

Smart packing for women can be as simple as jazzing up a pair of trousers and a t-shirt with a string of pearls or beads. For men, a light jacket or collared shirt with a pair of jeans or trousers is a winner.

If you’re packing shorts, don’t forget that for entry into churches in Italy, knees and shoulders must be covered so ensure shorts come at least to the tops of your knees just in case you want to pop in to one of the many amazing churches in Italy.

By dressing smart, your travel photos will be nicer, you won’t feel out of place amongst the sharply dressed locals and you will have the flexibility to go from walking around the city streets to a museum visit to sipping wine in a fancy bar without having to worry about costume changes.

Items that can be mixed and matched, don’t crease too much and can go in the same laundry load (so are of a similar tones) also make for smart and light packing.
